MEET THE COACH

Lisa S. Thomas - Director/Head Coach
USPTA Certified Professional Coach

Lisa Thomas has a long and distinguished career as a coach, scientist, and athlete. She began her coaching career as a college student in Chicago and quickly built a reputation as an outstanding tennis coach. In 1991, she was inducted into the UIC Hall of Fame for her achievements in both basketball and tennis. After 23 years as a scientist researching cures for Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis, Lisa retired from her research career. However, she continues to be actively involved in the tennis community, running free clinics and programs that benefit the public. In addition to her dedication to her sport, Lisa is also committed to helping others. Thanks to Lisa's efforts, countless people have enjoyed the benefits of tennis.

FRANK LO

HEAD COACH, EATON BLANCHE PARK

Frank is a USPTA certified tennis instructor with experience in working with all ages. From creating youth programs ranging from the novice to high performance levels to adults of all ages and levels. His programs are purposeful and fun. Learning and improving in the sport of tennis under Frank’s guidance will ensure you will reach your goals in the fastest and most enjoyable way.

Frank played club in college at UCSB with his right hand and after succumbing to a rotator cuff injury, relearned how to play with his left hand and continued competing until 2017. That was when he decided to completely focus on passing on his knowledge to others as a tennis coach. He has been a coach for South Pasadena Middle School, Mayfield Senior School, SPEF tennis programs, and at tennis clubs. His experience encompasses training nationally ranked juniors, collegiate athletes, as well as professional players.

Universal Tennis Rating

We are now incorporating Universal Tennis into our programs and facility to bring players together, offer the ability to track progress, and improve! UTR is the most-accurate rating system to measure your skill level - think of it like a golf handicap. If you are not yet rated, you will develop within your first couple of matches.
